Meet the Staff

Administrator
Laurie M. Longo, LNHA
Laurie came to Alden Village as Administrator in July 2009. Her career in
long-term care began in 1999 as a social worker in a skilled nursing
facility. Since that time, she has worked in various departments, including
Activities, Admissions, Marketing and most recently in Administration.
Laurie has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Roosevelt
University in Chicago. She is a licensed nursing home administrator.
Assistant Administrator
Yvonne Harris
Yvonne joined Alden Village in June 2001 as Director of Housekeeping and was promoted in May 2007 to her current position. Her passion, drive and commitment led her to receive the “Housekeeping Director of the Year Award” in 2004. Yvonne is currently taking classes to extend her education at the College of DuPage.
Director of Nursing
Samantha Roder, RN, BS
Samantha joined Alden Village as Director of Nursing in November 2009.
Prior to coming to Alden, Samantha served as a Director of Nursing and
Interim Administrator at a skilled nursing facility in Crystal Lake,
Illinois. She has previous experience in Telemetry, Medical/Surgical,
Orthopedic, Neurological and Case Management in the hospital setting.
Samantha has a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management from
National-Louis University in Lisle and intends to pursue a master’s degree
in Nursing. She received her nursing degree from Elgin Community College in
Elgin, Illinois.
Community Liaison
MaryEllen Schweitzer
MaryEllen has served as the Community Liaison for all six of Alden’s
facilities for the developmentally disabled, including Alden Village, since
January 2010. In her role, she works with families on the transition to the
facility as well as helps individuals and their families identify available
community resources. MaryEllen began her career at Alden as the Facility
Manager for Alden Springs Intermediate Care Facility for the Developmentally
Disabled for adults with developmental disabilities in 2006. She was
promoted to Resident Services Director in July 2008 and became responsible
for supervising the daily operations and case management duties of Alden
Springs. In 2009, MaryEllen received the Resident Services Director of the
Year award from Illinois Health Care Association and was honored as a ‘Hero
in Long Term Care’ by the Illinois Health Care Association in 2008. She has
served as the co-chair of Alden’s Special Olympics 2008. MaryEllen has a
bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
