"In December 2003, I did not know where to turn when my then 17-year-old daughter suffered a severe brain injury and my world was shattered. As a result of her condition, Sara could not walk, talk, eat or speak. Her needs were beyond comprehension. I did not know how to take care of her or what to do – until we found Alden Village. Although no one wants to ever have to place their child in a facility away from them, Alden Village has been a Godsend. The staff – from Admission to Nursing – is amazing. I know my daughter is getting the absolute best care possible. I have found everyone at the facility to always be eager and willing to listen. I can honestly say that I do not know what Sara and I would have done if we had not found Alden Village all those years ago and did not have Alden Village to help us to this day."

"Alden Village is a very special place for very special people. I have made it my practice to participate in the annual Holiday party at Alden for a number of years and it never ceases to amaze me just how involved and in tune the staff is at Alden to make sure that every resident has the most enjoyable holiday season possible. The facility is filled with laughter, music, and of course, Santa! There is an abundance of presents for the residents, and the smiles on the residents’ faces are the best presents for me. It is very hard to see a child with special needs and problems; however, it is very rewarding to see a place like Alden Village help these very special people."

"The first thing you notice when you enter Alden Village is how clean it is. The residents always look healthy and happy. There is not that 'nursing home' feel; residents at Alden Village do not roam aimlessly down the halls or cry out for attention. Instead, you see staff members devoted to the care and nurturing of their residents. Aides even sing to the children and young adults and engage them in games. The staff really pays attention to the residents' needs and it shows."
